    Initial client email

    Send your client an introductory email to introduce your team and request a virtual or in person meeting.

    Reminders for first email:

    1. Copy your teaching staff on client emails for grading purposes.

    2. Decide on an email subject. Choose something short, but easy to recognize, so your emails stand out to your client. Use the same subject in each email so they are easy to recognize and find.

    3. Address your client in a professional manner. "Dear Dr. [Name]," "Greetings Professor [Name]", "Hello Ms./Mr. [Name]"

    4. Introduce yourselves, its a good idea to include professional photos/ Linkedin link for your team members, so your sponsor (who may be remote) can get to know your team.

    5. Request a meeting scheduled with your design team and clients as soon as possible. This first meeting is important for setting expectations and gathering as much information about the project as[...]

    6. Sign off the email in a professional manner. Note who wrote the email (For example: "drafted by [NAME] on behalf of Team [Project name or number]").

    Dear Dr. Smith,

    We are Team [Team name] from the [University Course]. We are excited to work with you this semester. We would appreciate your time for an initial meeting to understand your goals for this project. We also would like to introduce ourselves, our skills, and ask you some initial questions.
